Promoting Men's Well-being and Self-awareness: A Conversation with Colin Lynch
Our first guest in our Movember Men's Health Series is Colin Lynch. Colin shares with us, his unique perspective on promoting men's health awareness and self-care in high-stress roles. We learn from his blueprint that supports his successes in his career. He emphasizes the importance of authenticity and self-awareness and believes that individuals in high-stress roles should recognize their limits, pay attention to physical warning signs of stress, and have a safe space for open conversations about mental health.
He is the Managing Director and Head of Global Real Estate Investments at TD Asset Management where he is responsible for ~$25 billion of investments in 1,100 properties located in 20 countries worldwide. He joined TD Asset Management in October 2015, initially working with TD Asset Management’s senior executive team on corporate strategy. He was formerly a Management Consultant at McKinsey & Company and an Investment Banker at Morgan Stanley.
He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Arts from Queen’s University. All were received with distinction. He also holds an ARCT (honours) from the Royal Conservatory.
In 2020, he was named one of Canada's Top 40 Under 40, a Trustee Emeritus of Queen's University and a Recipient of the Queen's University Toronto Branch Award.
He is a member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Finance & Audit Committee of the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Toronto Investment Board and the Black Opportunity Fund, where he is also a co-founder. He also served on the Board of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, up to October of this year. He is an Advisor to OneEleven, a large technology incubator in Toronto.
