Sandra Chuma: Be happy with what you have, but eager for more

Sandra Chuma is a multimedia journalist and award-winning documentary filmmaker, and was selected as the inaugural Documentary Fellow during her time at Columbia University. For more than 15 years, Sandra has successfully blended business leadership, entrepreneurial innovation and creativity. In 2001, prior to attending Columbia University, Sandra partnered with her husband to create OBP (Open Business Process), an IT and management consulting company. Over the course of 7 years they grew the company into a highly successful consulting firm, offering guidance on IT and business strategies, and employing more than 60 consultants. Together, Sandra and her husband led their team in supporting clients operating across the globe, specifically in North America, Europe and Africa. Sandra understands that stories of inspiration have the power to shape lives. During her studies at Columbia University, she was captured by the ability of documentary film to tell complex and multi-faceted narratives with sensitivity and depth.Sandra’s project PLUS!, a documentary about the plus-size fashion industry, was highly regarded for it’s wit and energy and won her a 2016 Gracie Award. She was also awarded first prize in the NBC Sports CPTR'D Contest for Queens & Knights, her profile of the Gotham Knights – an inclusive rugby team in New York City, which she co-directed and produced.Sandra continues this momentum through Ndini, a venture that melds her business acumen, her love of story and her fearless exploration of the world around her. Ndini, is a platform to inspire, empower, educate and entertain; and to enable women across the globe to see the possibilities for their own lives. While her work and education has taken her around the globe, Sandra has remained connected to her Zimbabwean roots, cultivating a passion for the country and continent she was raised in.The concept for Ndini was born from Sandra’s desire to support and empower the young women in her life, having endured a personal struggle to find representation in the media that celebrated true African potential. Still feeling as though the narratives are restricted, Sandra hopes to provide access to the untold stories of exceptional African women that will resonate, inspire and ignite strength.Find Sandra online at:Website: http://www.sandrachuma.com/Personal IG: https://www.instagram.com/sandra.chuma/?hl=enNdini Media IG: https://www.instagram.com/ndinimedia/?hl=en

About the Podcast

The Empowered in My Skin Podcast
A podcast designed to help humans everywhere think in ways that is empowering.
This Podcast is all about helping humans think in ways that is empowering. Empowered humans, empower humans and our goal at Empowered in My Skin is to help develop one billion humans who are lead dominos for empowerment. Regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, etc., everyone deserves to be empowered in the skin that they are in.

Empowered humans are thriving humans. It is our birthright to thrive. When we own our thrive, we are operating from a position of empowerment, and celebrating life in the present moment without fear. It is human nature to feel uncertain, but why does it have to take us away from our thrive, our creativity, and throw us off balance?

If we can recognize that being empowered is us choosing to accept all that is, then we have the ability to step into clarity and live in the present moment. Our "now" is all that we have and where our infinite empowered energy resides.
