Empowering Men’s Health: A New Series on Wellness, Resilience, and Redefining Masculinity

This podcast episode introduces a series dedicated to men's health, emphasizing the importance of addressing men’s health issues with the same openness and compassion often extended to women's health. Through this series we will tackle the unique challenges men face and the need for safe spaces to discuss these topics.

Over the past two years, our men's health series has featured impactful conversations with men who have shared valuable insights on mental health, physical fitness, and redefining masculinity.

This November, the discussions will continue to break traditional expectations and tackle critical issues such as hormone health and relationship building. Listeners are encouraged to engage with these conversations, as they not only benefit men but also have a profound impact on their families and communities.

Yes.

Speaker A:

Great day.

Speaker A:

Amazing humans.

Speaker A:

Welcome to.

Speaker A:

I guess it's kind of another episode, but really it's an introduction of an episode series that we're going to be running in the month of November.

Speaker A:

And it's all dedicated to a topic that should be close to all of our lives and, but doesn't always get the spotlight that it deserves, and that is men's health.

Speaker A:

And so, as a woman with men in my life, I actually know firsthand how important it is to address men's health with the same openness and compassion and depth that we give to women's health.

Speaker A:

And so this series is all about continuously continuing to create a safe space on this podcast where we can openly, you know, talk about the unique challenges that men face.

Speaker A:

You may not know it, but this is actually our third year running a series.

Speaker A:

We started it back in:

Speaker A:

We attacked it from a, like a real corporate space.

Speaker A:

Alan Keller, you know, really helped us with mental health.

Speaker A:

Kwy Miller, Gareth Knock, Funk Roberts.

Speaker A:

So those four, Alan Kwycy, Gareth Funk.

Speaker A:

We sat down in a.

Speaker A:

In a.

Speaker A:

In somewhat of a, like a panel kind of format.

Speaker A:

And then also John Ribeiro.

Speaker A:

And through whether there's a panel format or the individual conversations, you know, each of these men shared unique perspectives, really helping us to explore everything from mental health pressures to the physical side of fitness to the whole masculine masculinity.

Speaker A:

And the response we got back from listeners was really, truly overwhelming.

Speaker A:

Some of our best episodes last year, and it just really reinforced and reminded us how essential these conversations are.

Speaker A:

So hearing your feedback and the stories that we, you know, told to us, it's just these discussions resonate with a lot of people and they're deeply needed.

Speaker A:

And truthfully, not just in November, but year round.

Speaker A:

So we do try, when we have, you know, episodes with men, really to just try to see how vulnerable we can get with them, you know, and so we all have fathers, brothers, partners, friends, and their health impacts us in many ways.

Speaker A:

And so men's health is not just a men's issue.

Speaker A:

It's a family issue.

Speaker A:

It's a.

Speaker A:

It's a community issue.

Speaker A:

It's a societal issue.

Speaker A:

And that is truly why we reserve space and time in November, which I'll tell you why soon, where we dive, you know, really in deeper and where we put some focus on, on this topic.

Speaker A:

And so, and, and we do get a chance, you know, because it's from a demographic, we do interview more women than men.

Speaker A:

So we do get a chance to cover a lot about women's health on the platform, but we also want to honor that balance by dedicating time to men's health and again, like, really just start to explore, reflect and.

Speaker A:

And grow, grow in our knowledge, grow in our awareness.

Speaker A:

So this year, bringing new conversations, really want to be intentional, try and do some stuff that we really kind of haven't tackled before.

Speaker A:

So as of the recording of this trailer, we've locked in two episodes.

Speaker A:

So one is with Jonathan Reed, who's going to really tackle this conversation from young boys, right?

Speaker A:

Like, his whole mission is before they become men.

Speaker A:

And it's much harder to untangle the years and years and trauma.

Speaker A:

He's starting the conversations, you know, younger men, connecting with them, you know, really teaching them about community, helping them connect more of themselves from an inner space.

Speaker A:

So inviting them into spaces of nature where that makes that possible.

Speaker A:

Bringing on Funk Roberts, you know, both with his expertise, but not only that.

Speaker A:

His story is just.

Speaker A:

It is one of sheer resilience and the dedication that he has and the mission that he's on to really help men over 40 live and thrive, you know, meaningfully in their lives.

Speaker A:

You know, the community he's created, such a strong brotherhood deserves to be, you know, deserves voice, right?

Speaker A:

Deserves platform, deserves a microphone.

Speaker A:

And he really, you know, he dissects a bit for us.

Speaker A:

Testosterone, the importance of testosterone.

Speaker A:

He clarifies and clears off some myths that exist around that.

Speaker A:

And then also really, you know, just via history helps, you know, probably provide some tactics and tips of ways that men can really start to lean in a little bit more.

Speaker A:

And even, you know, maybe women, how we can maybe help the men in our lives.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker A:

So this is really, really cool, you know, and again, I just really wanted to provide a place where, you know, in both cases, they're redefining masculinity.

Speaker A:

We have two more spots open and probably will continue to keep on that kind of realm, but really breaking through the trad expectations and making space to tackle topics that men truly need to talk about way more.

Speaker A:

Not just women.

Speaker A:

Men need to talk about hormone health, work, life, harmony, and ways to build healthy relationships with others in their lives.

Speaker A:

So I love it, you know, and then the reason why now in November is really, it's in line with the November movement.

Speaker A:

And so we've been using this month to support the movement, to amplify awareness, encouragement to take ownership of their health.

Speaker A:

And so Movember is about fostering discussions on mental health, suicide prevention, prostate and testicular cancer and so much more.

Speaker A:

So we invite everyone to listen in.

Speaker A:

You know, share these episodes in your network with men in your lives, men.

Speaker A:

Share them with your brethren.

Speaker A:

And let's help normalize these conversations even more.

Speaker A:

And your support and encouragement to them or to a man in your life, what can make all the world of a difference.

Speaker A:

So in closing, you know, empowered my skin.

Speaker A:

Just really proud to say that we've always been about finding strengths and stories of others.

Speaker A:

You know, regardless of who we are and where we come from, we are more alike when we share stories or through our stories.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

And so this series is going to be just another way to honor that mission, supporting and empowering men to be healthy, resilient, and really achieve their highest, fullest potential.

Speaker A:

I think it's, it's deserving of everybody.

Speaker A:

So stay tuned.

Speaker A:

This November.

Speaker A:

If you subscribe to the podcast, now is your chance to do so.

Speaker A:

So you never miss an episode.

Speaker A:

Not just the November series, but all of our other amazing episodes that we bring, and we will continue to bring you the voices, the stories and the insights that aim to make a difference in the, not only the lives of men, but the family lives, community lives, societal lives.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker A:

And we're so happy to partner with you and share energy with you on this journ.

Speaker A:

So, yeah, I hope you're excited as I am for now.

Speaker A:

This is where I say I'm out.

Speaker A:

Bye.

About the Podcast

The Empowered in My Skin Podcast
A podcast designed to help humans everywhere think in ways that is empowering.
This Podcast is all about helping humans think in ways that is empowering. Empowered humans, empower humans and our goal at Empowered in My Skin is to help develop one billion humans who are lead dominos for empowerment. Regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, etc., everyone deserves to be empowered in the skin that they are in.

Empowered humans are thriving humans. It is our birthright to thrive. When we own our thrive, we are operating from a position of empowerment, and celebrating life in the present moment without fear. It is human nature to feel uncertain, but why does it have to take us away from our thrive, our creativity, and throw us off balance?

If we can recognize that being empowered is us choosing to accept all that is, then we have the ability to step into clarity and live in the present moment. Our "now" is all that we have and where our infinite empowered energy resides.
